Shut-Down Procedure

My services are down, what do I do?

This is the standard agreement with all satellite customers,  please note the procedure in shutting down.

Dear Iron Link Communications Customer:

Please be advised that in order for Iron Link Communications to terminate a service and discontinue billing you (the customer), it is necessary for you shut down the remote site transmission.   Iron Link Communications will continue billing you for the service until the following procedure is followed and confirmed via email:

  1. On the transceiver – disable the transmit and save configuration
  2. On the modem
    1. disable the transmit
    2. lower power to minimum (usually -35.0dbm)
    3. change TX FREQUENCY to minimum (usually 50.000mhz)
    4. disconnect the TX IF cable at the back of the modem

It is not enough to simply power down all the equipment.  The above procedure must be followed and confirmed in order for billing to terminate.

Iron Link may provide a TEST circuit (if available and offered) in order to protect the customer’s investment.  If you are on a TEST circuit - the test circuit is for THREE BUSINESS DAYS – after that point, it needs to be shut down with above procedure.  If test circuit is not shut down after three days, billing will commence and you agree to pay the LIST price for the test circuit.

Please be advised that all agreements require 30 day cancellation notice via email.  If you would like to cancel or shrink services, we require 30day notice.

Thank you

Iron Link Communications
