Iron Link
Communications is a full service teleport and collocation
facility – our facility utilizes an auto switching
180KVA generator with 450 gallon diesel tank. All our equipment
runs on UPS 24/7. We house spare UPS, antennas and RF components
for emergency situations. All our UP and DOWN converters
are fully auto redun dant. All our TWT and SSPAs are fully
auto redun dant – with multiple 3Kilowatt linearized
TWTs, we are ready for practically any size service. Our
Internet access is primary connection through UUNet (B.S.
interconnect) and Sprint as secondary – BGP backed
at our Edge router (7507 – this is a router that
is built around redun dancy). The serial links reside on
our multiple 7206VXR routers, or through our true catalyst
switches. Iron-Link communications prides itself on Service
and instills it's strong service policies upon all employees.
We have also partnered with John Spade of WebVoip for our
3rd level router support. John is very well know in the
industry as an extremely accomplished routing engineer.
Iron-Link also works closely with Tracy Schwenk of TRS
Engineering. Tracy is responsible for all/any custom engineering
designs that Iron-Link may require for such items as Auto
Switching, Remote Access, etc. With this combination of
people all teamed together, it is obvious as to how Iron-Link
is developing a very positive repertoire concerning it's
high level of SERVICE given to all of it's teleport customers.
Iron Link is currently providing coverage directly from
our facility to North America, Central and South America,
Europe, Africa as well as many other destinations all over
the world. Currently we are pointing our antennas to Pas1r,
SatMex5, IS805, and IS907 for C-band coverage as well as
SatMex5 for KU-band operation. Iron Link has the capacity
to point to many other satellites due to our full Domestic
and International FCC licensing. Iron Link is expanding its
coverage areas aggressively through the buildup of the Fort
Lauderdale, Florida location as well as through partnering
with teleports looking at different satellites. Iron Link
is constantly reinvesting to keep our teleport up to date
with current standards and customer needs.
Daniel originally started Iron-Link Communications, Inc.
in 1995 with his wife Donna. The business originally focused
on performing test and repairs of various manufacturers Earth
Station Equipment to include Vitalink, Vitacom, SSE, Varian,
Comstream, etc. While Daniel did all the troubleshooting,
Donna performed all assembly/replacement functions.
Daniels experience in the Satellite Communications industry
began with the United States Air Force in 1984 where
he spent 1 year in Basic Electronics study and then went
on to a 6 month course on Satellite Communications equipment,
specifically the ANFSC-78 Heavy Terminal. Throughout his
4 years of service to his country, Daniel’s responsibilities
were to troubleshoot, repair, align and test heavy earth
terminal equipment to include:
Frequency Up/Down Converters Frequency Synthesizers
High Power Transmitters Parametric Amplifiers
Cryogenic Equipment Antenna Tracking Systems
Digital Mux/Demux Equipment Modulators/Demodulators
Analog to Digital Converters Time Division Multiplexers
Spread Spectrum Multiple Access Equipment Systems - ECCM

Donna went into the electronics industry at age 17 working
in the shipping/receiving department of National Semiconductor.
She took courses on Soldering/Assembly/Blueprinting and eventually
moved to the Design Assembly Division. Donna moved on with
other companies and has 20 years experience in assembly of
Satellite Communications equipment. She also recently became
a licensed Dental Hygienist, however, she chooses to continue
with Iron-Link to further the company development.
After performing electronic repairs together for approximately
2 years out of their garage, they expanded into equipment
sales and Earth Station engineering. They moved the business
out of their garage into a warehouse of approximately 1200
square feet. After building teleports for various customers
throughout the Americas, Iron-Link made the decision to build
their own teleport. They re-located to a 3500 square foot
facility to accommodate the growth. Iron-Link has been operating
their teleport successfully since 1999.
Cesar (Tony) is the newest member to join Iron Link Communications
in 2003. Cesar was hired to help in all aspects of the
operation, but specifically to help support our customers
here and out in the field. Cesar’s telecommunications experience
began when he enlisted in the US Navy as an Electronics Technician.
After almost 7 years of service, he was honorably discharged
and quickly enrolled himself in the telecommunications industry
by joining with Bellsouth. After a year, Cesar left Bellsouth
to work for MTN to provide telecommunications onboard cruise
ships. After a few years of heavy traveling all around the
world, Cesar came to work for Iron Link. With Cesar and Bart’s
stabilized antenna platform experience, Iron Link is able
to expand its service line to include communications onboard
ships as well as land.
